The Child Fatality Review Team

The Child Fatality Review Team is composed of agency representatives who respond to the death of a child., i.e. Laredo Police Department, Webb and Zapata County Sheriffs Departments, the Webb County Medical Examiner, the District Attorney’s Office, CPS and CAC staff. The team meets on a quarterly basis to review cases of child deaths. Their primary objective: to analyze the trends surrounding child deaths in the region and develop public awareness strategies designed to reduce the number of those deaths that are preventable.
